FORMULe Project

The FORMULe Project is focused on the development of new technologies based on digital writing and OCR (Optical Character Recognition). The idea is to apply such techniques to digitally  store hand-annotated manuscripts.

The project's final goal is to consolidate a new product line based on digital writing technologies. This line will provide digitalization services to industrial companies where tradition in the use of ink and paper is continued and no former IT solution has succeded. FORMULe aims to bridge this technology gap by introducing a new solution that would have little impact in the normal activity since the operators/engineers would continue to use the traditional methods of hand annotating their results and comments. The advantages of using this new techniques are various, from digitally storing all information independently of what happens to the original hand writen form, to future data processing functionalities that would allow full integration with modern ERP systems.
